Good morning. The last week has been busy with lots of progress so I thought I’d post a quick update.
The rules are now finished bar the final proof reading for both grammatical and spelling mistakes. As you can see from the picture on the right the front cover has been designed.
Both the Campaign and the Ruse de Guerre decks are finished. They have been specially designed to fit into standard CCG card sleeves so it’s easy to create decks that will last.
The map has been completely reworked and looks even better than the original. It is nearly finished with only a very small tweak required. The map will be published as both a one page version and a large version spread over 4 pages.
James is currently working on a special set of counters which are due today or tomorrow.
The only technical issues now outstanding are: ensuring that the pdfs aren’t too large and checking that they print properly in colour.
If all goes well the rules should be ready this week. Let’s hope I haven’t tempted fate.
Finally, Pike & Plunder is designed to be used with any table-top rules set and I’ve been asked for suitable rule sets. One obvious recommendation is Maximilian! Based on 24 DBx elements a side, version 2 was released in 2007 and there are free samples pages available via the Vexillia books page.
